Lost Cat! -- Collected Tips For Recovering Lost Cat
Hope Cat Comes Back Soon! Check all these tips ...
After you post the missing cat report and signs, there are lots more things that a cat owner can do.
To help you recover your cat, I've collected some of the best tips from around the Internet.
Many of them are not at all obvious.
Things like ...
Set out items with familiar odors;
Search the cat-hiding spots all around the cat's home, plus in neighboring properties;
Speak in a normal calm voice when searching outdoors;
Ask around to see if someone has already 'rescued' your cat off the street -- not knowing that your kitty was close to home and knew the way back!
And many, many more.
Read all the tips below.
Read the linked articles, which contain explanations from the experts.
To Encourage You -- Amazing Examples of Success:
[story 1] A kitty was missing for 2 weeks. Dad & Mom were sitting around the fire pit talking at 10pm, when here comes their cat trotting home like no big deal to join the conversation.
[story 2] A cat owner had walked around her apartment unit for 8 hours calling for her kitty. PetFBI suggested they just sit down outdoors, and shoot the breeze. They sat on their front porch talking, and here comes her cat, casually walking home.
The Rest Of The Quick Tips, and Linked Articles:
So many of these tips were unknown, unexpected, non-obvious to me, that I wanted to share them. Here are two favorite examples of "non-obvious" tips:

When outdoors 'calling' the cat, one must do so in a normal and calm voice -- because a frightened cat will hide and may not come to you. Cats seem to respond to is their human’s normal speaking voice, but not to the sad or frantic voice calling their name and pleading with them to return.

Most cats won’t go too far, and are probably hiding right close by -- therefore, you must carefully search all potential nearby hiding places.

2 - More non-obvious tips:
Put the litter box outside (the scent can help them find their way back).
Another humorous tip: "The cat owner had walked around her apartment unit for 8 hours calling for her kitty. I suggested they just sit outside and shoot the breeze. They sat on their front porch talking, and here comes her cat, walking home like la de da."
Check around with the close neighbors to see if by chance the kitty snuck into an open garage and is now scared/stuck and can’t get out! 😿
